Join Adventure/Fine Art Photographer & Naturalist Kendrick Moholt on a 5 day photography workshop and wildflower tour while rafting on the Snake River in Hells Canyon during the spectacular spring wildflower bloom. This trip is open to photographers and non-photographers simply interested in the natural history of Hells Canyon. Float 51 miles through the heart of Hells Canyon, from Hells Canyon Creek to Heller Bar. This trip begins and ends in Joseph, Oregon where round-trip transportation to and from the river is included in your trip cost. Run powerful class III and IV whitewater, the likes of Granite and Wild Sheep rapids. Visit historical sites, fish for prehistoric White Sturgeon, and let the Winding Waters' guides take care of your every last need. And we'd like to mention that our gourmet menu is capstoned with locally raised and grown ingredients when available. We are happy to accommodate most dietary needs upon request.

Photo safaris are in-the-field photography experiences. Photo safaris build practical experience by applying traditional photo skills or building on the skills you already have. There is no better way to learn professional photography techniques than in the field while shooting with a professional photographer. The photo safaris bring two dimensional classroom/article ideas into three dimensional reality, creating encounters where you can produce unique images. You learn how to see animals, what to look for, and where to look. Over my 40 years of shooting I've found that one of the key skills clients learn on wildlife photo safaris is to see the animals and birds we are wanting to photograph. Sounds simple, but it is a learned skill that requires a great deal of time and effort. Finding a wild bobcat or spotting a great gray owl in a forest requires techniques and skills that are part of the hands-on learning you will do on these photo safaris. We talk about preparing your camera, what the settings should be, what to do when a sudden encounter happens - and many are sudden. In the field shooting you learn so many things and can ask questions anytime.

Quiet. With far less traffic and the dampening effect of 6 feet of standing snow on the landscape, your winter photography tour offers a completely different perspective on the park. Wildlife are actually easier to spot this time of year. Silhouetted against the snow and being less mobile, the winter months offer some memorable wildlife photography and viewing opportunities. When your legs are tired from the skiing, this tour makes for an incredible recovery day!
