Who We Are & What We Do For more than 20 years Colorado Mountain Expeditions has been providing guided experiences in the mountains of Colorado. Born out of the volunteer led operations of the Colorado Trail Foundations guided hiking program, CME began offering trips on the Colorado Trail in 2000. The Colorado Trail Trekking Program is still a large part of CME's operations as its owners serve as the Trekking Program Managers and seasonal employees for the Colorado Trail Foundation, helping them to organize and run trips on the CT. In 2010, CME expanded its operations into Arizona, offering guided hiking trips on the Mogollon Rim in the beautiful Tonto National Forest. When attempting to describe the magnitude of Yellowstone National Park words fall impotently short. Yellowstone is a premier destination you should visit, preferably with us. Just Google it, and you will be overwhelmed by videos, websites and images featuring the Park, its geysers, grizzly bears, thundering rivers, big skies and ubiquitous bison. This year's trip will traverse the Southwest (Bechler) part of the park and end at Old Faithful. Our trek begins in the relatively empty and mysterious Cave Falls front country campground. We will then head into the park in order to hike along the Bechler River, passing several iconic Yellowstone waterfalls: Dunanda, Colonnade, Iris, Ragged and Twister Falls. Along the way, we will visit Mr. Bubble -- a wilderness hot tub that's a destination in itself and is a 25 mile round trip from any road. We'll cap off the trip by walking to Old Faithful, hoping that its beauty will help you overcome the shock of the crowds awaiting its eruption.
