Our local waters are home to some of the largest & most plentiful tripletail in the South. Tripletail are one of the absolute best fish to sight cast, very hard fighters, cooperative eaters, and one of the best table fare you will ever come across! It's surprising how many people have never heard of or even seen a tripletail. The best description to someone that has never seen one is basically a prehistoric dinosaur looking bream on steroids with razor sharp gill plates, sharp fins and well, 3 tails. Some people think they are gorgeous, some people think they are odd looking but no one can deny how tasty they are! Tripletail are opportunistic feeders that lie motionless until their prey comes close and they strike rapidly. They feed on fish and benthic crustaceans, including gulf menhaden, Atlantic bumper, glass minnows, swimming red crabs, anchovies, shrimp, and squid.

Fishing in the daylight hours is one thing, but night fishing during the summer and part of the fall is one of our most popular kayak charters. With the extreme heat of summer and the pressure of fishing boats running during the day, night kayak fishing trips are the most recommended, comfortable, and successful during the summer months and beyond from battling the hot sun. We primarily catch speckled trout and the infamous redfish at night under docks and underwater fish attracting lights. You can see the fish that you are fishing for more at night because there is no glare from the sun and the waters isn't as stirred up from boats passing by. Our night fishing trips provide lots of action and this trip is fun for the whole family and any level experience angler.

During the months of July, August, and September join me in pristine Homosassa, FL for a scalloping adventure that you will be sure to remember. Scalloping is a snorkeling activity where quest will swim over shallow grass flats in search of the tasty scallop treats. Are day typically begins at 8 am at where we meet at the famous "MaCraes" waterside bar and grill in down town homososaa, FL where I will pick you up. From there we will take a short 20 minute boat ride down the old Homosassa river and out into the Gulf where the scallop grounds await. On are way out through "True" Old Florida you will see plenty of wildlife including manatees, dolphins, otters, ospreys, and many more! Once we reach the Scallop grounds we will begin snorkeling along the clear shallow grass flats in 3-8"² of water. Once are limit is reached or are time has come to an end we will make the run back up river to where the "Local" boys" will clean your scallops for a small fee. If you choose to do so you can clean you own as well. River and Spring tours are also available from an additional fee.
