Step aboard my Beavertail Strike for a day plying the skinny waters of Matlacha, Pine Island Sound, and Charlotte harbor for the area's premier gamefish. I specialize in using all artificial baits whether it be fly fishing, soft plastics, or plugs. Without having to rely on catching bait and using my shallow drafting skiff we can run to the shallowest of flats and start fishing BEFORE everybody else. Sometimes we even beat the fish there and have to endure a gorgeous sunrise while the tide starts to turn. (Life can be terrible down here sometimes). Your charter will be custom tailored based upon a few phone calls before hand in regards to weather, tides, skill level, and target species. Everyone, regardless of their experience, is welcome to fish on my boat so don't hesitate to ask questions while we're on the water.

An interactive exploration of Tiger Basin, our guests will be coached on the operation of an Otter Trawl shrimp net. Historically developed in Fernandina, this net is similar to the nets used by the commercial shrimp industry today. Deploying and retrieving the net is part of the hands-on experience. The catch will then be displayed in an on-board aquarium and each of the creatures will be identified and released back into the wild. We continue to explore the backwaters and tidal creeks that make up this estuary before returning to historic Fernandina Beach.

During the months of July, August, and September join me in pristine Homosassa, FL for a scalloping adventure that you will be sure to remember. Scalloping is a snorkeling activity where quest will swim over shallow grass flats in search of the tasty scallop treats. Are day typically begins at 8 am at where we meet at the famous "MaCraes" waterside bar and grill in down town homososaa, FL where I will pick you up. From there we will take a short 20 minute boat ride down the old Homosassa river and out into the Gulf where the scallop grounds await. On are way out through "True" Old Florida you will see plenty of wildlife including manatees, dolphins, otters, ospreys, and many more! Once we reach the Scallop grounds we will begin snorkeling along the clear shallow grass flats in 3-8"² of water. Once are limit is reached or are time has come to an end we will make the run back up river to where the "Local" boys" will clean your scallops for a small fee. If you choose to do so you can clean you own as well. River and Spring tours are also available from an additional fee.

With this trip we cover a lot more ground. Start time will usually be early morning. If the tide is low, we will work our way into mangroves slowly and stealthy. We will throw a combination of spoons and weed less rigged soft bait. We may also spend some time fishing lipped plugs and slow sinking lures at creek mouths depending on time of year. As the water gets higher, while using the trolling motor, we will work the choke points in mangroves. We will usually mix in top water to round out the day! Bring some wading shoes just in case. Some of my best fishing days happen while wading.
