Once owned by a notorious 19th-century gunfighter, this Old West-style resort on a secluded cattle ranch is 10 miles from the rim of the Grand Canyon, 2 hours from Las Vegas, and 35 miles from Route 93. Featuring cowboy-themed decor such as wagon wheels and saddles, the custom-built pine cabins sleep 2 to 5 guests, and have porches, fireplaces or wood-burning stoves, and en suite bathrooms with showers or antique claw-foot tubs. Some cabins add loft bedrooms. Linens are provided. The Ranch also offers Glamping Tents, a fusion of glamour and camping, for those who want to experience camping without the hassles. The tents are fully furnished in western style decor. The Ranch also offers a Cowboy Campout for those who wish to saddle up a horse, and join the old tradition of the American cowboy on a guided overnight Campout. Nightly campfires offer live music. There's also a rustic restaurant and fully licensed bar. Guided horseback treks, wagon rides, and a western gun range.

The 8-day motorized expedition down the Colorado River covers the entire 280 miles of the Grand Canyon from Lee's Ferry to Lake Mead. You'll have the opportunity to hike in many beautiful side canyons with cascading waterfalls, natural swimming pools, and lush vegetation. We will visit interesting historical sites, study unique geological features, and marvel at the ever-changing vistas and panoramas that are revealed at each twist and turn of the river. In addition to the amazing scenery and educational aspects of the trip, there is plenty of whitewater excitement! We'll run more than 200 rapids during the course of the expedition, including some of the most famous "drops and falls" in the world, like Horn Creek, Hermit, Crystal and Lava Falls. The Grand Canyon includes numerous side canyons created by erosion. It is through only one of these canyons we are able to journey to the bottom. Because many layers of rock were exposed during this process, the walls of the canyon consist of countless shades of brown, yellow, red and gray. As the sun moves across the sky the light changes making the vista transform dramatically over the course of the day. The rock levels represent a cross-section of the geological history of the earth with the stone at the Inner Gorge of the river being some of the oldest on the planet with an age of nearly two billion years. Grand Canyon hosts 6 of the 7 climatic zones with only Tropical missing. Departing from Williams we will travel through 5 levels arriving at the base of the Inner Gorge, the Colorado River, and to what appears to be another world. Some of the plants of the Lower Sonoran Life Zone can only be found at the bottom of the Grand Canyon.
