A nearby beach, you gear-up, receive instructions, and soon begin kayaking the coast. Sea otters & seals are common, sometimes porpoises, sea lions, and whales. Paddle by the charming artist hamlet of Halibut Cove, Kayaking finishes at the tailhead. GREWGINK GLACIER LAKE HIKE A three-mile hike begins at the Saddle trailhead, a moderate hike to the top of the saddle. The remainder of the hike is easy, over the level glacial moraine opening to a lake dotted with ice bergs, the blue of Grewgink glacier beyound. Hiking back for your pick-up offers views of Halibut Cove & Kachemak Bay.

A 25-minute water taxi cruse, visiting Gull Island seabird rookery puffins, cormorants, kittiwakes, sea otters & seals are common. Sometimes we see porpoises, sea lions, and whales. The hike is moderate the first ½ mile, the remainder is easy, over a level glacial moraine opening to the glacier Lake dotted with ice bergs and Grewgink glacier, surrounded by tall mountain peaks. Receive shoreside instructions and begin kayaking, on occasion Arctic Turns can be viewed as we navigate around ice bergs paddling towards the impressive blue face of Grewingk Glacier. Stopping for lunch and a walkup for a grand view!
