A 15-minute water taxi cruse visiting Gull Island seabird rookery home to 10,000 nesting seabirds and puffins, cormorants, kittiwakes and more. Then cruise to a nearby beach where you gear-up, receive instructions and begin sea kayaking along the coast. Sea otters & seals are common and sometimes porpoises, sea lions, and different species of whales. Grewgink Glacier Lake Hike (self-guided)
A three-mile round trip hike begins at the Saddle trailhead, a moderate hike up a series of switchbacks to the top of the saddle. The remainder of the hike is easy, down to the level glacial moraine opening to a glacier lake with ice bergs at the foot of Grewgink glacier, surrounded by tall, mountain peaks. The easy hike back rewards you with views of Halibut Cove & Kachemak Bay.

The hike is moderate the first ½ mile, the remainder is easy, over a level glacial moraine opening to the glacier Lake dotted with ice bergs and Grewgink glacier, surrounded by tall mountain peaks.
Receive shoreside instructions and begin kayaking, on occasion Arctic Turns can be viewed as we navigate around ice bergs paddling towards the impressive blue face of Grewingk Glacier. Stopping for lunch and a walkup for a grand view!
