This trip has it all: rivers, glaciers, meadows, wildlife and breathtaking views of Mount Rainier, and an amazing opportunity to learn and practice the do's and don'ts of backpacking. The scenery is so stunning you will probably start planning your next trip before you leave the park! /p> The hiking trail itself is of moderate difficulty overall with challenging uphill sections and some easier stretches that will allow you to keep your eyes fixed on the vistas, glaciers, and Mount Rainier. Join us for 3 days of climbing to the summit of one of North America's most sought after peaks, Mount Baker. We take either the Easton Glacier or Coleman-Demming route with challenging route-finding through icefalls, seracs, and around large crevasses. Before summiting Mount Baker, you will learn fundamental skills necessary for safe glacier travel such as ice axe arrest, the use of crampons, and how to attach to a rope as a member of a rope team. The Miyar Adventures Mount Baker climb is a great introduction to mountaineering in Washington. Our professional guides will help navigate the route, home to mountain streams, blue glaciers, and vistas spanning to the Puget Sound. This amazing setting will be our classroom as we learn and practice the do's and don'ts of alpine travel. In preparation for the trip, guides will help each participant find the elusive balance between packing too much and leaving something critical behind. When attempting to describe the magnitude of Yellowstone National Park words fall impotently short. Yellowstone is a premier destination you should visit, preferably with us. Just Google it, and you will be overwhelmed by videos, websites and images featuring the Park, its geysers, grizzly bears, thundering rivers, big skies and ubiquitous bison. This year's trip will traverse the Southwest (Bechler) part of the park and end at Old Faithful. Our trek begins in the relatively empty and mysterious Cave Falls front country campground. We will then head into the park in order to hike along the Bechler River, passing several iconic Yellowstone waterfalls: Dunanda, Colonnade, Iris, Ragged and Twister Falls. Along the way, we will visit Mr. Bubble -- a wilderness hot tub that's a destination in itself and is a 25 mile round trip from any road. We'll cap off the trip by walking to Old Faithful, hoping that its beauty will help you overcome the shock of the crowds awaiting its eruption.
