Gila Hot Springs Ranch offers fully outfitted wilderness pack and that will take you into the spectacular Gila Wilderness. There are hundreds of miles of trails to explore throughout 558,014 acres of unspoiled land, with deep canyons, rugged mountains peaks, hot springs and thick forest. This remote part of southwestern New Mexico became the first designated wilderness in the U.S. The Gila lies in what is known as a transition zone, between desert and alpine forest. This make the Gila unique, offering a wide variety of life forms and magnificent scenery. We love the Gila and have made a livelihood of revealing its beauty to visitors. Gila Hot Springs Ranch has been family owned and operated since 1940 and even today, we continue to share the secrets of this magnificent land. We offer many options that will allow you to explore the Gila Wilderness and we are committed to making sure that you have an unforgettable experience. All skill levels are welcome and we will customize your trip to fit your needs. Our weight limit for a rider is 200 pounds.

In order to take advantage of the best light, we'll be entering the park with a special use permit before the gates open in the morning. This will allow us to get into position for sunrise which will happen before the general public is allowed into the park. Sunrise and sunset is a remarkable experience in White Sands as the sand reflects whatever color is in the sky.
