On the full day version of this guided fishing trip we will travel 20 to 40 miles offshore in the open Atlantic waters east of Orlando in search of Dolphin, Wahoo, Blackfin tuna, Sailfish, Cobia, Grouper, Snapper, and more. We offer 8 or 10 hour trips and generally depart at 6:30 am. The 3/4 day version can be run in morning or in the afternoon. During this trip we generally run about 15 to 25 miles in search of the same fish as the full day just only 8 hours. This is a very popular trip amongst visitors that want to experience as much as possible.

An interactive exploration of Tiger Basin, our guests will be coached on the operation of an Otter Trawl shrimp net. Historically developed in Fernandina, this net is similar to the nets used by the commercial shrimp industry today. Deploying and retrieving the net is part of the hands-on experience. The catch will then be displayed in an on-board aquarium and each of the creatures will be identified and released back into the wild. We continue to explore the backwaters and tidal creeks that make up this estuary before returning to historic Fernandina Beach.

The best description to someone that has never seen one is basically a prehistoric dinosaur looking bream on steroids with razor sharp gill plates, sharp fins and well, 3 tails. Tripletail are opportunistic feeders that lie motionless until their prey comes close and they strike rapidly.
