Anacapa is about two and a half hours from our home port. We like to get under way on our economy sailboat rental about 1000 and come home about 1700 (5pm), but we can flex with your schedule. I We'll circumnavigate the island Anacapa is about five miles long (it's really three very closely spaced islands), and yet is only one square mile. Nevertheless, folks tried to raise goats and sheep here - in spite of the size and in spite of the lack of water. There are some great stories about this spot, but I'll save those for the cruise.

ABOUT ISLAND PACKERS Cruising the California Channel Islands for Education, Recreation and Research Since 1968. Island Packers Cruises is the Official Boat Concessionaire for the Channel Islands National Park. We offer year round transportation to the “local islands” Santa Cruz and Anacapa. We offer trips to the “outer islands”, Santa Rosa, San Miguel and Santa Barbara (NPS Closure) from March through November on a limited schedule. Island Packers Cruises also offer trips that get close to the Channel Islands without going ashore. These trip are designed for you to view the abundant wildlife found in the waters of the Channel Islands National Park and the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary. Seasonally, in summer and winter we offer Whale Watching trips. Other special trips for birding and trips to special areas of Santa Cruz Island that are property of The Nature Conservancy are available as scheduled.

Since 2010 our team has been leading tours and exploring the waters of Santa Cruz Island, taking tens of thousands of visitors kayaking in the island waters and sea caves. Our mission is to inspire a love of nature and our community by empowering all people through exceptional guided experiences. Founded by Michael Cohen in 1998, Adventure Company has been family owned and operated from the beginning. Michael comes from a strong background in river running, expedition sea kayaking and environmental education and he has surrounded himself with a group of like minded passionate, adventurous and eco-conscious staff. Our guides are some of the best outdoors men and women in the business, coming for a variety of leadership backgrounds. We know that your guide is the most important part of your trip and we go above and beyond to train our guides to the highest level. Our guides have an intimate knowledge of Santa Cruz Island and the Channel Islands National Park, spending hundreds of days camping on the island each year. We have a deep love of the islands and fill all of our trips with insights into many island topics from the delicate balance of marine ecosystems to the history of human in habitation of the islands.
