Photo flights are different than tours in that there is no established standard path, so to speak, for the flight. It is a discretionary flight on the part of the pilot as to where you will go for the best scenic photos. If you have specific scenes that you want to photograph, subject to acceptable weather and flight regulations, we can go. Since the flight you select is limited to time, your pilot will not go so far that the flight cannot be completed timely. Generally, during these flights on departure you will see such sights as the verdant Flathead Valley, Flathead Lake, Mt. Aeneas the Swan Range, the Jewel Basin with its many alpine lakes, like Pilgrim and Three Hawks Lakes which are classic 'cirques', panoramic views of the Hungry Horse Lake Valley, close-up views of the Stanton and Grant glaciers, Mt. St Nicholas, Mt. Stimpson, Mt. Jackson and other iconic geographical features. If there are specific features you would like to photograph let your pilot know in advance so he can factor it into your flight, providing your intended destination can be conducted within the length of your flight and weather permits it. You should make the reservation clear when booking to alert us.

"Adventure takes many forms and I’m pleased to be able to lead workshops, take on assignments, sell prints and share with you the stories behind the images. My travels take me to many exotic yet very accessible places and it’s my hope that at some point you will come along. If it’s a print in your home, an assignment for your organization, connecting on the internet or at one of my workshops we’ll travel the world together.

Each day brings an absolute surprise. You never know what you will see this time of year. As winter is ending and the green grasses being to sprout, everything is feeding heavily to put back on much needed weight. We look for Bears, Wolves and baby animals mostly, but also run across so many other animals and unique photo ops along the way. The days are filled with adventure and the nights offer excellent meals from our local chef, great views and a relaxing atmosphere to download pics from the day.

My workshops are a combination of learning about your gear, photography techniques, and the wildlife of the Yellowstone ecosystem. Photography instruction can be as much or as little as you’d like, and a small group allows for a variety of instruction tailored to your skill level. Our priority is finding wildlife to photograph, so a lot of driving to different areas of the park is involved.

You may be thinking about adding an extension to one of our existing tours (great for hitting some of the neighboring areas of the park or simply spending more time in Yellowstone), or planning a private guided itinerary for part of your stay in the park. Reservations Guide: Brent Paull Yellowstone in the winter is all about snow, cold, and survival. Feet of snow blanket the mountains and sagebrush valleys in the park, making it easier to spot wildlife. Gray Wolves are hunting elk, bison push the snow aside with their heads, bighorn and deer paw at the snow to get to the buried grasses, moose are browsing the willows, predators like coyotes and foxes are digging in the snow at carcass sites or mousing in snow drifts, river otters and eagles are hunting the fish along the unfrozen sections of river. Eating is survival. The bottom line is Yellowstone delivers the greatest winter wildlife photography experiences in North America.
