A well-known treasure in the heart of Southern Oregon, the Rogue River has a very special place in my heart. It is where I grew up, it is what taught me the most and where my fishing skills were genuinely defined. Spring Chinook salmon fishing on the Upper Rogue River is some of the most intense, but rewarding salmon fishing in Oregon. Since my younger years, I have studied, mastered and become one of the best salmon fishing guides on the Upper Rogue River.

Fall Chinook Salmon fishing is much like the Spring salmon fishing on the Rogue River. The only difference being the quality of fish and more native salmon numbers. During the fall months, Salmon have been in the fresh water for a longer period of time. This means that the grade of meat is not as high as the spring Chinook salmon but, the fight is just as hard as those sought after "springers". Fishing for Fall Salmon on the Rogue River is a great time and more successful for most other Southern Oregon fishing guides. Our guide service looks forward to both seasons since we have had the opportunity to better understand the King Salmon in our local Rogue River than most others.

The Coquille river has a phenomenal hatchery program that provides exceptional fishing conditions under ample river circumstances. If you expect an abundant amount of chances at fish, the Coquille hatchery program gives the river that possibility and you should book this trip. It is one of the best steelhead guided trips you can find. A person can take home 3 hatchery steelhead per day on parts of the Coquille river system and these winter steelhead fishing adventures are done from a drift boat with a built-in heater and oven! Oven??! Yes, we have a built-in area you can heat up frozen food. For example, I take breakfast burritos, wrap them in tinfoil, stick them in this tray; within 30 minutes I've got breakfast or lunch on the water!

Spring Chinook enter the Rogue River in April and May. They are in a hurry to get to the upper river near Shady Cove. They are a great fighting fish that people of this region treasure. Most anglers who enjoy sea-run fish in Oregon consider Spring Chinook to be the best eating. Two per day may be kept. Typically they bite best early in the morning, so we get up early for this adventure.

Steelhead fishing on Oregon's coastal Sixes river is one of the best fishing adventure's you can find. Fishing for steelhead on the Sixes is very productive and since you are so close to the ocean these fish put up a very good fight. The steelhead caught off of the Oregon coast are super fresh sometimes still having that sea lice on their bodies. Sea lice?! It's okay, that is good and means they probably hit fresh water within the last 48 hours.

Since becoming a professional southern Oregon fishing guide, I have conquered steelhead fishing on the Rogue River. Although the Rogue River does not have as big of return numbers as the Umpqua fisheries there is still plenty of Rogue River fishing to be had. An average day fishing the Rogue River will bring 3-4 steelhead to the boat, all of good size. I enjoy fishing for steelhead on the Rogue River not only because it has taught me so much in the past but because the low return numbers make southern Oregon fishing guides work that much harder to catch steelhead on the Rogue River.
