We will pick you up and we'll drive along the 27-mile long Park Loop Road up to the summit of Cadillac Mountain. From the summit you can see spectacular views of Bar Harbor and the surrounding islands. Visit all of the famous sites, including Sand Beach, Thunder Hole, Otter Cliffs, Precipice Cliffs, Sieur de Monts Springs and gardens. As you wind through the park you will see hand-cut stone bridges, rocky coves and pink granite coastline, glacier cut lakes and dense forests. You will also see the famous Asticou Gardens and the only fjord on the east coast, Somes Sound. Discover the towns of Seal and Northeast Harbor. View the gorgeous lawns and mansions of the "summer people".

Our instruction curriculum presents a continuum of courses designed to facilitate a novice's progression through these three competency levels. Each level consists of a series of courses, one building upon the other, aimed at helping a client achieve that particular level of competency. This inclusive curriculum design allows a client to jump into the continuum at any given point, assuming they make a candid assessment of their existing knowledge and skill level. Each level also includes a practice component that requires a significant commitment on the part of the client to repeatedly practice and ultimately master the skills and techniques outlined in a particular competency level.

Everyone is excited to pull a few lobster traps. We will haul, bait, and explain how the traps work, and discuss the biology of lobsters. Learn how lobstermen are protecting this thriving industry while harvesting 120 million pounds of lobster annually. At $4 per pound that is nearly half a billion dollars fueling the coastal Maine communities. Most lobsters migrate closer or further from shore depending on the seasons. They may move up to 5 or 6 miles in a year, going closer to shore in warm weather, and offshore for stable, deeper water in late fall. In May the abundance of Lobsters close to shore is still low. Heading east we will look for a breeding pair of bald eagles. East Bunker Ledge is a favorite spot for watching seals as they swim, fish and sunbathe on the rocks. We'll cruise home past the Cranberry Islands, where a 200-year old fishing village continues to thrive by the ways of the sea.
