A wilderness Adventurer & Bush Pilot Zack Knaebel of Tok Air Service, LLC was born in Fairbanks. A third generation pilot, he started flying at age 11 and has been flying Bush Alaska ever since. Zack now lives in Tok, Alaska, and from there he flies clients out to experience the vast Alaskan wilderness. His aim is to make the wilds of Alaska accessible and affordable for everyone. Zack's flying skill and guiding experience provide clients with a winning combination that results in successful "once-in-a-lifetime" adventures. One of Zack's favorite past times is scouting out places in the mountains where no plane has ever landed, and setting down in his Super Cub. We invite you to come discover this untouched wilderness with us. Zack has 3 airplanes specially suited for whatever adventure you choose.

You will be outfitted in state-of-the-art trekking equipment and given a safety briefing before boarding one of our A-Star helicopters. Once loaded and ready, you will have an opportunity to explore Juneau's incredible range of ecosystems while soaring over old-growth trees of the Tongass National Forest, dramatic mountain ranges, and expansive flows of ice that change from white to brilliant shades of blue. Flight routes are the pilots' choice depending on conditions to give you the best views of the day. Upon landing at our base camp on the glacier, your guide will outfit you with crampons, a helmet, and an ice axe to make it easier to walk on the slick terrain. As you begin your trek, our guides will demonstrate different techniques for glacier travel and allow time for practice as you become comfortable walking on the ice.

Valdez also has an amazing trail system surrounding the entire area: Valdez Glacier, Robe Lake, Hogback Trail, East Peak Area, Sugarloaf Mountain, Solomon Gulch and Lake, Alaska (Alyeska) Pipeline Corridor, Old Valdez Town Site, and Mineral Creek Canyon. Most of these areas can be ridden to directly from the lodge and offer some of the most scenic views of the Valdez Port and surrounding mountains available. If mountain riding is more your thing, there is no place on earth with more amazing peaks, bowls, and open valleys so easily accessed. We can wake up and ride Hogback Mountain directly behind the Lodge or Solomon Gulch "Area 51"³ across the bay"¦Or we can trailer the machines closer to another location we choose to ride for the day. Either way, here more than anywhere else in the world, we are able to use our fuel riding in the mountains instead of getting to them. Just 10 minutes up the road, the Richardson Highway and Thompson Pass wind through the Chugach Mountains, and allow direct access to the best riding of your life. On helicopter weather days we offer snowmobile tours as well, weather and snow conditions permitting.
