It’s one of the last truly pristine wilderness areas left in the world. Endless miles of crystal clear rivers teeming with wild rainbow trout and huge chinook salmon course through wide open country to Bristol Bay. Brown bears and red foxes roam under vaulted blues skies, and the shadows of bald eagles soaring overhead chase along unspoiled trails. It might sound like a dream, but it’s all real here at No See Um Lodge. We’re not the biggest outfit in the state, and we don’t want to be. We’re happy being the very best Alaskan fishing lodge. Our fly fishing lodge is located in Alaska on a high bank overlooking the Kvichak River. Since 1975 we’ve been flying and guiding anglers throughout the Bristol Bay. Our fishing guides will help you find the best spots for that day’s fishing and will accommodate your needs.

Bear Trail roots run deep in Bristol Bay, from advocacy to ownership that honors and celebrates the very core of the region. We can give you an unforgettable experience with our family, through the land, fisheries, and wildlife we have worked so hard to protect. We are a family owned and operated business that began back in 1985 when Nanci packed up her belongings on a whim, to make Bristol Bay her home as a fishing guide. Being an advocate for the wild and voiceless eco systems in southwest Alaska is something that comes natural for Nanci. She became involved in the Board of Fish process and volunteered to work on the Southwest Alaska Rainbow Trout Management plan with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, from there she has volunteered hundreds of hours to the region, sitting on statewide and area wide boards for multiple administrations as well as participating in meetings and conferences to protect fisheries throughout Bristol Bay and Alaska. She continues this work even today and is currently the Chair of the Bristol Bay Regional Advisory Council for the Federal Subsistence Board.

His family ran an air-taxi service, so at an early age Chris washed floats, helped carry bags, load and fuel airplanes, and as soon as he was able learned to fly. Almost 20 years of flying experience has taken him all over the state of Alaska as well as many other places in North and South America. He has flown for several air charter services and fishing lodges and understands what travelers to Alaska are looking for. His true desire is to share with you the rugged beauty of the Alaska he has explored so thoroughly and to provide you with a truly unique experience, whatever your interest.
