Wild Fox Cabins & Campground is your passport to the rugged, unspoiled Maine wilderness. It’s a vacation experience you will never forget. We are located on 155 secluded acres along 3,600 feet of shoreline on Junior Lake in Penobscot County just 80 miles Northeast of Bangor Airport. Access by car via I-95 to ME-6. Access by boat from West Grand Lake (below), Bottle Lake, or Duck Lake (above), or by floatplane from Bangor Airport. We have the only boat ramp on Junior Lake. We boast some of the best fishing in the United States with over a dozen species available including Landlocked Salmon and two varieties of Trout. The lake has a maximum depth of 70 feet and 3,866 acres of pure, clean spring-fed water-rated at above-average quality by the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Game. Our property is surrounded by 300,000 acres of picturesque conservation land that can be hunted for a variety of game. There are other activities for every age, ability, and interest. The Rangeley Region is blessed with an abundance of flowing water perfect for Brook Trout and Landlocked Salmon. The " big three" are the Kennebago , Magalloway, and Rapid rivers. These three rivers consume most of our attention. Other waters in the area are the Rangeley, Cupsuptic, and Dead Rivers. Fly fishing on rivers starts as early as the first of April on the Magalloway River however that may be too early for a full day trip. The Rapid will start to fish as you get into the month of May. The Kennebago gets off to a slower start and isn't ready to fish till the end of May. Nymphs and streamers are the most successful methods in the spring. The fish begin their river life after ice out as they follow the spawning smelt up the mouths of the rivers. The next big feeding event is the sucker spawn beginning after the middle part of May. Hatches soon follow as the water warms. This is when the fun begins as the fishermen try to "match the hatch " through the summer months. Wading our rivers on a guided trip can be rewarding and good exercise. Our guides can match you up with the level of wading that you are comfortable with to make sure you have a safe and rewarding outdoor adventure.

Allagash Guide Inc specializes in fishing for Brook Trout, Lake Trout, Muskie and cold water species found in Maine's lakes and rivers. Our main interest is fishing the Allagash Lakes in Northern Maine and selected rivers of Quebec and Northern New Brunswick. Most of the fishing trips are in conjunction with canoe trips, but can be adapted to any personal needs. Fly fishing to trolling can be your choice. We do practice catch and release to conserve the resource where needed. However we also enjoy cooking a clients catch over the open campfire or in our baker ovens.
