Valdez and Thompson Pass give access to thousands of acres of endless mountain terrain offering everything from mellow scenic exploring to the most extreme and challenging terrain on the planet! Valdez also has an amazing trail system surrounding the entire area: Valdez Glacier, Robe Lake, Hogback Trail, East Peak Area, Sugarloaf Mountain, Solomon Gulch and Lake, Alaska (Alyeska) Pipeline Corridor, Old Valdez Town Site, and Mineral Creek Canyon. Most of these areas can be ridden to directly from the lodge and offer some of the most scenic views of the Valdez Port and surrounding mountains available. If mountain riding is more your thing, there is no place on earth with more amazing peaks, bowls, and open valleys so easily accessed. We can wake up and ride Hogback Mountain directly behind the Lodge or Solomon Gulch "Area 51"³ across the bay"¦Or we can trailer the machines closer to another location we choose to ride for the day. Either way, here more than anywhere else in the world, we are able to use our fuel riding in the mountains instead of getting to them. Just 10 minutes up the road, the Richardson Highway and Thompson Pass wind through the Chugach Mountains, and allow direct access to the best riding of your life. On helicopter weather days we offer snowmobile tours as well, weather and snow conditions permitting.
