This lovely 2.5-hour trail has something for everyone! We head into the Black Rock Canyon area which lies in the western most part of the National Park. We'll take you up into the mountainous region for stunning views of the highest peak in Southern California - Mt. Gorgonio, through deep canyons filled with large Juniper bushes, Yucca plants and Mojave pine trees. We'll wind you up and down and up and down through trails lined with the world-famous Joshua Trees. For the less experienced riders we can keep the pace at a nice walk, but there are some exciting galloping sections for the more experienced or comfortable riders. Whatever your preference, this trail has it all!

Our Rappelling Programs are all private and you will not be grouped with another party. This allows us to customize the day to suit your specific needs, and what you are looking to get out of it. We'll start by teaching you basic rappelling skills, familiarize you with the equipment and do some practice runs low to the ground. We'll then take the adventure to new heights (pun intended) by scrambling up the back sides of some of the more accessible rock formations, then rappelling down their vertical or even overhanging main faces!

We are the only rock climbing guide service in Joshua Tree to have a brick and mortar presence located in the heart of the community on Park blvd directly across the street from the JTNP visitor center. We have built a upcycled Conex shipping container building that is 70% recycled materials, solar powered, all art project on the outside and all business on the inside. Please see the above image. At Cliffhanger Guides we believe that anybody can rock climb. We play with kids age 3-103, all shapes, sizes, and ability levels. We are dedicated to expanding people’s horizons and giving them a chance to connect with the natural world and all that it has to offer.
