This ride extends the one hour ride to include the rim of Devil's Canyon. The beauty of the red rock coves and canyons abound with desert wildlife including eagles, deer, jack rabbits and sometimes the elusive coyote. There are some tricky inclines and declines along this trail making it slightly more technical than the one hour, but still appropriate for novice riders. There is a weight limit of 250 lbs. Please let us know if someone in your party is over 6'4".

This trip is upon request only, as it is not one of our regular daily trips offered. It is a great option for those who would like to see the Gunnison country between Almont and the city of Gunnison. For families with young children, we suggest the Lower Taylor trip instead, as the Gunnison float tends to be a little long for the younger ones. We also offer this section of the Gunnison River as part of the Garlic Mike's Float 'n Dine package (see below). The Gunnison float offers a very mellow, easy float where our guides do all the work using an oar frame and you just sit back and enjoy the ride. No experience is necessary. Ideally, all children should be of walking age and weigh at least 30 lbs (for the life jacket rating). All trips meet at Three Rivers Resort 30-45 minutes prior to trip time. Do not wear jeans or heavy cotton.

During this Colorado canoe trip, you will be dwarfed by high walls of red sandstone and shale deposited during the age of the dinosaurs. These canyons in the Colorado Plateau are truly magnificent and not soon forgotten. Massive cottonwoods stand on many river bends supporting the huge nests of blue herons, hawks and eagles. You may hike into Dominguez Canyon, Colorado's newest designated Wilderness Area, one of the most beautiful stops on the river. Hiking into the canyon will reveal deep, cool swimming holes, waterfalls and many ancient Indian petroglyphs (rock art panels). This 3-day trip is 31 miles filled with beauty and adventure!
