Isle Royale Charters runs charters to Isle Royale from June through mid September. Specializing in scuba diving, trips usually consist of 5 day runs. We offer both recreational trips as well as technical ones. You can expect delicious meals, excellent diving, and amazing island scenery . If you would like to try your luck at lake trout or salmon fishing between dives, (island rules allowing), bring your gear and MI fishing license and give it a try. (The fishing at Isle Royale is probably the best in Lake Superior.)

We are your headquarters for Upper Peninsula Michigan outdoor adventures and year-round lodging in Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula and Isle Royale National Park! We provide services relative to Lake Superior sea kayaking and Michigan mountain biking on IMBA’s Copper Harbor silver level “Ride Center”, including our state-of-the-art mountain bike rentals and mountain bike shuttle. Established in 1994, Keweenaw Adventure Company (KAC) offers a variety of guided day trips, as well as multi-day Lake Superior kayak tours on Isle Royale National Park. We staff bike mechanics for repair & service needs and have a small retail shop where we supply essential bike parts and kayak accessories. Canoe, sit-on-top kayak and SUP rentals are also available, along with eco-interpretive hikes and a shuttle service. More than just a bike shop, we have also built our reputation as advocates, trail builders, community organizers and folks who like to have a good time.

Captain Gary is a USCG licensed charter boat captain with over 30 years of experience fishing out of the Grand Marais marina on Lake Superior. During May and June we will be downrigging in deeper water for lake trout and salmon. During the months of July, August and September the salmon action picks up and the lake trout come closer to the surface. During these months we will be using a combination of downriggers, boards and dipsy divers. You will be departing from the Grand Marais, MN marina aboard the BRISTOL KAY a 2021 Kingfisher 2825 Offshore with an enclosed hard top cabin a dinette and toilet. It is equipped with radar, sonar, auto pilot, GPS, marine radio, Cannon downriggers, Shimano rods and reels and all U.S Coast Guard safety equipment is on board. During the final leg of the trip we'll head up Lost Creek to explore the natural area we are named after...then head to our landing in Cornucopia. Total tour time is approximately 6 hours, with 8 miles of paddling.

Though the Romans Point caves are smaller than those at Meyers Beach, they have way less crowds, allowing us to explore at leisure. On the way back if we have time we'll visit the Lost Creek estuary, a protected waterway with tons of turtles, birds, otters, and wetland plants. Total tour time is approximately 3.5 hours with 4 miles of paddling.

Sand Island is one of the 22 Apostle Islands and is one of the most diverse naturally and culturally; fantastic sea caves, a historic lighthouse, hiking trails, beaches, apple orchards, even model T Fords! Since time won't allow us to explore everything Sand Island has to offer we will base our itinerary on safety and group interests. Novice paddlers are welcome, but should be in decent physical shape. Expect 9 miles and 4 hours of paddling. "‹ This tour uses tandem kayaks, but we can accommodate solo participants and odd number groups. Families with children under 14 and/or under 115 lbs. get to use triples! For this option you will need two adult-size paddlers per child who would be a 'rider' in the center seat. (An adult-size paddler is considered to be at least 14 years old and 115 lbs. Riders must be at least 5 years old and 40lbs.)
