This 3 hour tour allows you to get up close and personal with the tallest living organisms on earth! Travel into the past to enjoy some of the worlds largest Redwood trees in Jedediah Smith State Park on a historic stagecoach road and beside the only undammed major river in California; the pristine jade green Smith River. Let our naturalists explain how these majestic trees can live for thousands of years. Take a short hike to one of the most iconic redwood groves in Redwood National Park. Savor the feeling of being inside a hollowed out live Redwood tree. Catch a glimpse of the barking coastal sea lions and harbor seals along the coast (dependent on time of year). We also visit the jaw dropping picturesque coastal views of one of the National Park's stunning Overlooks (dependent on weather).

Only 3% of the Redwoods that originally blanketed the Pacific Coast still stand. Come walk through time in beautiful Redwood National Park where many of the few remaining old growth coastal redwoods are still preserved from being cut down and turned into decks and picnic tables. You will walk through groves of leviathan trees that are centuries or even millennia old and can grow more than 350' tall. Our trip will begin in Redwood National Park and morphs into various hikes within Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park and new for 2024, Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park. You will almost certainly see herds of regal Roosevelt Elk, catch glimpses of whales from scenic outlooks high above the Pacific, maybe view a black bear or perhaps a sea otter or even the rare and endangered marbled murrelet. If you've never been to the Pacific Coast or seen a Redwood Tree, this is the trip for you.

Start off the morning watching the coastal fog lift mysteriously from the forest floor as you bike through ancient redwood groves. You'll feel the climate warm as we bike further inland past impressive trees and closer to the afternoon attraction: the Smith River. After an organic and locally sourced lunch on the banks of the wild and scenic Smith River, you'll paddle your personal inflatable kayak through stretches of rocky gorges, floating on crystal-clear water below more lofty coast redwoods. Finishing the day navigating some fun, easy rapids on the jade-colored Smith and starting by biking roller-coaster hills through massive redwoods, you'll experience the best Jedediah Smith Redwoods Park has to offer. Easy bike ride, no difficult uphill climbs, you set the pace. Easy kayaking, small rapids on calm water.
