About Apau Hawaii Tours, LLC Aloha, and welcome to the Big Island of Hawaii! ​ Experience the Kilauea eruption in Leilani Estates thru my eyes and experiences. I am one of the residents that has not evacuated the neighborhood allowing me to experience the raw power of the volcano just feet away. ​ Locally owned and operated since April, 2012, Apau Hawaii Tours offers personal and private tours on the Big Island of Hawaii for up to a maximum of four guests per tour (one in the front seat and three in the back). All tours are taken in a comfortable and clean, 4-door, four-wheel drive (4WD) Ford F150. This truck is modified for off-road use and has a higher step up and step down than normal. ​The majority of my tours are between 3 - 5 hours and are fully customizable. This is your tour and my goals are to send you home with a sense of awe and wonder after visiting this gorgeous island. None of the itineraries are set in stone, which allow us to make changes "on the fly" to give you the very best experience while visiting this slice of paradise. ​ Most of my tours are great shore excursions for cruise ship passengers, making sure to get you to the sights you want to see and back to the pier with plenty of time to spare. ​ Please note: if flying to the Big Island for a day trip, I would highly recommend flying into and out of the Hilo airport. Most of the popular sights are closer to Hilo vs. Kona. The airport code for Hilo is ITO. ​ Let me show you the beauty of the Big Island of Hawaii! ​ Credentials: Fully insured / Licensed Hawaii PUC 5521-C Hawaii Volcanoes National Park certified guide. TSA TWIC approved for guest pickup at cruise ship pier.
