This ultra-private, four to five-day guided program will be take place on the East side of Mt. Rainier on the the less frequented Emmons Glacier Route. On most trips we can do the climb in 4-days, but we have built in a 5th day as a contingency day in the event that we need an extra weather day to make our summit bid. As we are limited to 4 climbers and 2 guides, participants are in for a very customized climbing program on a mountain that is very special to us. Starting at 4,400 ft. at the White River Campground, we will climb 10,000 vertical feet to reach Columbia Crest, the true summit of Mt. Rainier.

Clouds might be above or below and wildflowers of all colors create an impressionist scene. Mt. Rainer itself, puts on show, revealing the snow capped ridges in soft light at the edge of the day. On this trip you will learn fundamental skills necessary for backcountry travel such as packing, backpack fitting, and leave no trace all while enjoying one of the most pristine and rugged wildernesses the Pacific Northwest has to offer. Mount Rainier National Park offers a one of a kind experience for backpackers that choose to take part in the adventure of this 4-day trip. As we hike through the Sunrise region of Mount Rainier National Park, we will witness the awesome powers of water, glaciers, volcanoes, and nature. This trip has it all: rivers, glaciers, meadows, wildlife and breathtaking views of Mount Rainier, and an amazing opportunity to learn and practice the do's and don'ts of backpacking. The scenery is so stunning you will probably start planning your next trip before you leave the park! /p> The hiking trail itself is of moderate difficulty overall with challenging uphill sections and some easier stretches that will allow you to keep your eyes fixed on the vistas, glaciers, and Mount Rainier. We plan to enjoy our time in the park at a comfortable pace, since half the fun of being outdoors is escaping our busy lives! There are some tough sections, however, so be prepared for a few challenges and many breath-taking rewards!
