Our Spring low tides uncover the bounty of the sea, and the plain midshipman sculpin spawning season serves up easy pickings for Bald Eagles. Bald Eagles from around the Puget Sound flock to the shores of the Hood Canal during this time. It is not uncommon to see 60 to 100 Bald Eagles on the beach and perched in overhanging trees! Watch and learn about Bald Eagles with our Biologist and Naturalists, and be sure to bring your camera for some rare up-close photos of eagles in their natural environment! Join us for a full day Naturalist guided hiking tour of the 3 most beautiful 200 foot (avg) waterfalls on the Olympic Peninsula! We conduct these tours only in the winter and spring when the waterfalls are most impressive. The first two waterfalls are only a short walk into the forest. The third waterfall is a 2.3 mile round trip hike into the Olympic National Forest, gaining 250 feet of elevation. It is considered easy, but may feel moderate for some. Our helpful and informative tour guide will transport you to each waterfall and teach you about the watershed, mountains, and flora & fungi that we see along the way!

Join us on a 4 Day Olympic National Park Backpack Trip Olympic National Park (ONP) is a spectacular sample of the great natural beauty that abounds in the North West US. Blemish-less nature formed by verdant rainforests, pristine lakes, and alpine terrain provides for a favorite backpacking destination of outdoor enthusiasts. Miyar will take you on four days of unmitigated serenity in Olympic National Park backpacking trip adventure rated as easy to moderate. We will be following the High Divide Loop trail exploring over 18 miles and gaining a net elevation of 3,590 ft at our highest point. We will start at the Sol Duc trailhead and move counter-clockwise past the Sol Duc falls, several beautiful lakes and verdant rain forests. We will also partake some glorious views Mount Olympus from vantage points on our way. We will be hiking in August when nature and visibility can be expected to be at their best.

During this photography workshop, we may visit the Hoh Rain Forest and its Hall of Mosses as well as the forests found in the Quinault region of the park. We will also photograph the rugged coastline and its awe-inspiring sea stacks which can be found at First, Second, and Third Beaches. Other coastal locations include Ruby and Rialto beaches. Around Lake Crescent, we will explore the inner forested areas in search of cascades and waterfalls.
