Westward Expeditions is a USCG licensed and insured guide service specializing in the vast flats and expansive mangrove shorelines and bays of South Florida. Whether you decide to embark on a journey that surrounds you with the crystal clear waters and oceanside flats of Biscayne Bay and the Florida Keys or venture around the endless grass flats and mangrove estuaries of Flamingo, Everglades National Park in search of that “Bucket List” fish, we’ve got you covered. Target Species include: Redfish, Snook, Tarpon, Seatrout, Black Drum, Bonefish, Permit, Sheepshead, Tripletail and Snapper. Although I do prefer to release the fish we catch, I don’t mind keeping a fish or two upon request. If you plan on coming home with a cooler full of fish, I can direct you towards a guide who will better suit your interests.

Throughout the forest are brackish "lakes" whose waters are a mix of "sweet" freshwater and saltwater. This is part of what makes the Everglades so special. These lakes, surrounded by mangroves, are refuges and nursery grounds for herons, egrets, stilts, ducks, wood storks, spoonbills, alligators, otters and a gamut of fishes. This is where the Everglades transition from freshwater to saltwater and is a wonderful place to experience.

From weary tailing permit and bonefish on the flats, to mega schools of migrating tarpon, to backcountry redfish and snook, the Florida Keys has something for everyone. Come experience shallow water sport fishing at it’s finest. I am located in the heart of the Florida Keys in Marathon. Marathon is a great fit for me because it is centrally located for me to fish all over the Keys. It’s location opens up more fishing opportunities in the ever changing weather conditions down here. From Everglades National Park to the Marquesas, I like to fish all of it. Options are always a good thing to have here in the islands. I specialize in fly fishing and light tackle sight fishing here in the Keys. Sight fishing is extremely challenging, and can be extremely rewarding. We sight fish here for just about everything. From tarpon, bonefish and permit, to sharks and barracudas. The clear water here in the Keys makes it a great place for sight casting with a fly rod or a spinning outfit. Custom trips are available.
