Our Learn to Rappel Program is for anyone who is looking to experience the thrill of a vertical adventure without having to rock climb. No prior experience required, and all ages are welcome! Our Rappelling Programs are all private and you will not be grouped with another party. This allows us to customize the day to suit your specific needs, and what you are looking to get out of it. We'll start by teaching you basic rappelling skills, familiarize you with the equipment and do some practice runs low to the ground. We'll then take the adventure to new heights (pun intended) by scrambling up the back sides of some of the more accessible rock formations, then rappelling down their vertical or even overhanging main faces!

One of the most amazing trail rides offered in the National Park. On the California Riding and Hiking Trail we ride through easy but very impressive terrain most of the trail. The views are just mindblowing once you reach Eureka Peak with its 1681 m / 5516 ft. 360 degree views of the high desert. On good days you can see the Salton Sea and the Mexican border in the South and Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree as well as Twenty Nine Palms in the Northe, East and West. A memory you will never forget. We stop close to Eureka Peak for a sandwich and drinks. Take your camera! For the ones who want some adventure: There are some nice slopes uphill, if you want to give it a try (same counts for downhill). You can ride up on the ridge, if you are not afraid of heights.

We are the only rock climbing guide service in Joshua Tree to have a brick and mortar presence located in the heart of the community on Park blvd directly across the street from the JTNP visitor center. We have built a upcycled Conex shipping container building that is 70% recycled materials, solar powered, all art project on the outside and all business on the inside. Please see the above image. At Cliffhanger Guides we believe that anybody can rock climb. We play with kids age 3-103, all shapes, sizes, and ability levels. We are dedicated to expanding people’s horizons and giving them a chance to connect with the natural world and all that it has to offer. We'll take you up into the mountainous region for stunning views of the highest peak in Southern California - Mt. We'll wind you up and down and up and down through trails lined with the world-famous Joshua Trees.
