Searching for dolphins and manatees in The Gulf of Mexico, Caloosahatchee River, Pine Island Sound, and surrounding waters is a great way to start off any combo cruise with Capt. Josh. Dolphins are plentiful and are seen on a daily basis here in beautiful South West Florida. Manatees are little more rare to due to they are very aware of motors. That is where Captain Josh's super quiet 4 stroke Suzuki outboard will allow us to sneak up on unsuspecting dolphins and manatees. The element of surprise gives us great opportunity to get close encounters with some of nature's most gentle giants.

Tarpon Fishing Fort Myers is not for the faint hearted nor is it for the angler that wants to catch tons of fish. Tarpon can be a finicky fish not cooperating on occasion, while other days they will eat everything you throw at them. The hook up to land ratio with tarpon is 1 out 3 on average. However there are days we never lose a fish and other days we go 0-10. Fishing for tarpon is hands down the most frustrating, aggravating fish to target. At the same time it is the most adrenaline pumping, exciting, rewarding, exhilarating, exhausting and most incredible experience any angler can have, period. Its level of difficulty and awesomeness is what makes it so special and Capt. Josh's favorite fish in world to target.

Fort Myers Florida is a fisherman's dream come true. Not only does it offer both fresh and saltwater fishing, it holds some of the world's most famous and sought after big game fish on the planet. Most anglers come here target the saltwater slam and grand slam. The saltwater slam is comprised of catching the Snook, Redfish, and speckled sea trout all in one day. The grand slam is on most anglers' bucket list. Grand slams consist of fishing for and catching the Tarpon, Snook, Redfish, and Speckled Sea Trout all in the same day. The grand slam is very difficult to do considering tarpon are a seasonal fish and are here during certain times of the year only. The slam is more common because the Snook, trout, and redfish are residential fish abundant all year long.

If you are looking to harvest fresh delicious fish from the Gulf of Mexico this is the charter for you. Aboard an offshore fishing charter anglers will have opportunities depending on time of year to target: snapper, grouper, cobia, sheephead, triple tail, cobia, king mackerel, bonita, goliath grouper, sharks, permit, redfish, and amber jack. All of these species pull extremely hard and many of them are excellent table fair.

I'm Capt. Scott Hughes. Come make a memory with a exciting fishing trip in Southwest Florida. I specialize in light tackle saltwater, and fly fishing from the backcountry of Charlotte Harbor to flats of Pine Island Sound and Boca Grande. All of my backcountry 4,6 or 8hr flats charters and 12hr all-day Tarpon Charters are No Fish, No Pay! If you do not catch a game fish (or jump a tarpon on all-day trip) on your charter then there is no charge for the trip. I have pick-up locations at Burnt Store Marina, Pine Island, Punta Gorda and Boca Grande. I like to target big fish. During warm months, tarpon, sharks, snook, redfish, cobia, black drum, king mackerel and big jacks are the main species sought after. Most of the winter months are devoted to redfish, trout, snook and grouper. Whether your a beginner or a seasoned pro, I am an instructional guide who will provide the knowledge and techniques needed for a successful and enjoyable fishing trip.
