Bluefin tuna are one of the largest, fastest, and best eating fish that New England offers. They are prized among sport fishing for their fight and speed, shooting through the water with their powerful tails up to 43 miles per hour, pulling the fishing line away 200 yards from the boat. If fish were like cars, tuna would be the Ferraris of the ocean, sleek, powerful, and made for speed. Gloucester is centrally located to some of the highest yielding Bluefin Tuna Fishing grounds that New England offers. With the central locations, we are the best with the shortest rides out of any ports, with Stellwagen bank, Jeffries Ledge, and Tillies nearby. This is why we are known as the Bluefin Capitol of the world.

7 Seas Whale Watch is located in the heart of historic downtown Gloucester, MA and in one of the busiest parts of Gloucester harbor. As soon as you board the Privateer you will be surrounded by the sights and sounds of Gloucester's working waterfront. You may see fishing boats that have just returned from sea unloading fish, lobstermen baiting and setting their traps, and perhaps even some of our indigenous wildlife such as Harbor seals, Gray seals, Common eiders (a beautiful sea duck common in the harbor), Double-crested cormorants, and of course you will hear the ubiquitous "seagulls" (mostly Herring, Great black-backed, and Ring-billed gulls). Once we arrive on the feeding grounds we will spend approximately 1.5 hours with the whales. Your onboard naturalist will provide valuable insight into the lives of the whales you see and explain the behaviors you observe the whales engaged in. Our experienced team of naturalists and the information they impart during your time with the whales will greatly add to your whale watching experience and hopefully give you a deeper appreciation of the whales you see and the unique marine environment that we are ALL so privileged to be visiting.

I trailer my boat to a designated ramp, that will be decided on ahead of time. The place will be chosen on the fish we want to catch and the sea and weather conditions. I most often launch out of Barnstable, Falmouth or Sandwich area. Our Charter provides many types of rod and reels for various means of fishing. We may fish for Stripers and Bluefish, using many techniques, which include: trolling, casting, jigging, and live bait. My favorite is having you catch some live Mackerel for bait and then live-lining them to some hungry Stripers! While bottom fishing for Seabass, Fluke and Scup, we drift using bait and jigging techniques. We enjoy fishing with kids, ladies, and gentlemen with with any level of experience or no experience. Teaching everyone gives us great pleasure, and the expression on the faces of first timers are priceless, when they hook up with a nice fish! We are happy to give tips on catching, filleting and cooking fish. We strive to make it a great experience, that you'd like to do again with us.
