We are the new concessioner for the 2024 season. We will be open from Saturday May 25th through Wednesday October 16th, 2024 providing carriage tours, stall rentals and equestrian camping. All of our carriage tours depart from Wildwood Stables, just off the Park Loop Road. The Island Explorer Bus (4 Loop Road) stops at Wildwood. While we don’t offer horseback riding, we would be more than happy to get you and your family on a carriage tour.

Maine's Acadia National Park is the first National Park to be created on the Eastern Seabord, boasting the highest coastal peak (Cadillac Mountain) on the Atlantic Coast all the way down to Rio de Janiero. It covers the lions share of Mount Desert Island, but shares the island with the quaint and touristy vacation destination Bar Harbor. Our trip will explore several terrains and eco-systems within the park that include rugged and steep mountain peaks, the Atlantic seashore, wooded forests, historic carriage roads, 338 species of birds and freshwater lakes. We will day hike for all 6 days, staying in the Blackwoods frontcountry campground.

Each group will have a Registered Maine State Sea Kayaking Guide to lead the tour. Keep your eye out for local wildlife! Harbor Seals, Bald Eagles, and a variety of other native wildlife often guest star on this tour. This tour will generally include a beach landing to explore the coast where you can learn about tidal pools, or rest on the stony shore with the ocean view! Don't forget your camera and bring snacks!
